One of the biggest challenges when you are outdoors is sleeping. There are many things that can affect your sleep at night. If it is your first time outdoors, you will be bothered by the different sounds of the insects. Even the thoughts of wild animals will keep you up all night.

- Keep the insects away. One of the major reasons why a person could not sleep well during camping is uninvited bugs, mosquitoes and other insects taking over their bed and tent. Keep your area insect free by using insect repellants. You can use lotions, sprays and candles. Don’t leave your tent open and clean anything that will attract the insects as well.
- Use a classic
air bed. It is more comfortable than sleeping bags. This is recommended if it is your first time to spend the night in the wild but practice sleeping in a sleeping bag as well. You’ll be able to sleep in it once you get the hang of it.
- Don’t take naps during the day. You are camping because of the exciting adventure. Do what your list says and avoid taking naps during the day. Naps will only make it more difficult for you to sleep at night. If you are exhausted due to the day’s activities, it will not matter whether you sleep on a portable
bed or a simple mat.
- Avoid drinking caffeinated drinks four to six hours before your bedtime. The same with what you are not supposed to take even if you are at the comfort of your home.
- Welcome nature and enjoy it. Instead of getting paranoid about what will happen when you fall asleep, enjoy the moment. Listen to the sound of nature. There are probably few unfamiliar sounds; it is because you are one with nature. The leaves will make a sound, the same with the other organisms in that area.
